Mulligan’s has held various charity events to help support the Tamil schools in Johor Bahru, raising a total of RM3850.

The money was used for:

•  RM500 – To repair air conditioners in the library at Jaja school in Johor Bahru

•  RM1300 – To sponsor 10 of the poorest students and provide books and uniforms for the year at Jaja school in JB

•  RM 2130 (RM 2050.00 from Mulligans and RM40.00 each from Iris Wilkie and Dave Brown) to purchase the following items for the Tamil School in Permas Jaya:

•  9 complete sets (31 books in a set) for the library

•  Some independent story books

•  A bookbinder and a heavy duty stapling machine for the general office

•  A tower of paper trays for the principals office

We would like to take this opportunity to thank, Dave Brown, Iris and Ken Wilkie, as well as all those other generous people who supported this cause and dug so deep into their pockets.

Mirahma, the principal of the Tamil school in Permas Jaya, was absolutely ecstatic over the donation as Iris Wilkie and Dave Brown went to the school and offered her the money to spend on her school. Mirahma, will be forwarding a plaque in appreciation to Mulligans to hang on the wall, in due course.

We would also like to wish Ken and Iris all the best in their new venture, their presence will be sadly missed in and around Johor Bahru and Permas Jaya.

We’ve made some major changes to the site, to make it easier to navigate, as well as more interactive for everyone to use.

We’ve now got a brand new section dedicated to our MUGS (Mulligan’s United Golfing Society), where you can upload photos, view the MUGS world leader board and see pictures of the winners and losers of the week, as well as contacting the committee members to find out about upcoming events…

We’ve kept allot of the original website too – you can still view the pub’s menu, the photos from 2007 and 2008, but you can now load them onto you’re Facebook, print them or save them.
