NI-Limits recently launched the Red FM Web Widget, which allows users to add the widget you see below to their websites simply by copy and pasting the following code:

The widget can also be used on your desktop (via either AIR or Yahoo Widgets) and can even be used on Facebook, not to mention being shared and bookmarked across countless other social networks…

It is with an immensely gratifying sense of accomplishment that our chefs have baked their very first Wordpress widget, which has been successfully tested in Wordpress 2.0.4 and 2.2.2 - and works like a dream in both versions!

We’re calling it the WP Mega Feedjit Widget, and what it basically allows you to do is drop (up-to three instances into up-to three different sidebars) instantaneous and self-serving geo-tagged site statistics powered by Feedjit.

The look and feel of this widget can be highly configured to fit seamlessly with your own site design.

HOWEVER - BE WARNED: NOT WORKING IN WP 2.5

And… Although each instance of this widget can be configured differently, if more than one instance in on the same page as each other, the first instance controls the settings of the second.

If displayed on different pages, each can have different settings.

For those that simply cannot wait for our own AJAX scripts to be released, and need something to bite your teeth into whilst you wait, we would strongly recommend you go visit AJAX Rain as soon as possible!

For a more technical and less automated approach to AJAX, you should probably ensure you are already subscribed to the news prescribed by AJAXian.

Use CSS to Absolutely Center Align a DIV

For those of you looking for the easiest way to absolutely center align a DIV using CSS only, and avoiding all of those really messy tables, whilst also wanting to fluidity in the design, please use the following code:

position: absolute;
left: 50%;
top: 50%;
width:560px;
height:380px;
margin-left: -280px; /* MUST UPDATE TO MATCH HALF THE WIDTH */
margin-top: -190px; /* MUST UPDATE TO MATCH HALF THE HEIGHT */
}

Please note that if you change the width and height of the DIV, you must also change the margin left and top so that they exactly match half the size of the height and width. This can be avoided using percentages, but Internet Explorer does not accept percentages in height values, so to be truly cross-browser compatible, you need to do things manually for now, that is; until our up-coming DIVx widget has finished being baked!

Framed Maintenance Plug-In for Wordpress

We are proud to release our first plug-in for Wordpress, where we admit that in a rather uninspiring moment of reason decided to call it Framed Maintenance.

This plug-in adds an iFrame-Powered Splash Page informing users (other than logged-in administrators) that the site is undergoing renovation.

Administrators can enter their own URL (pointing to another page or site containing any information they like) from within the Wordpress Dashboard.

So, whilst you are upgrading your sites, you can set it so that visitors can either see one of your other sites, or you could create a new page specifically for such occasions and have that displayed whenever the site is being upgraded. Worse comes to worse and you could set it for Google so that they can at least move on to their next location much easier.

If you are still running an old (pre 2.2) version of Wordpress, you will need to use this plug-in instead:
